The latest version of Symantec pcanywhere includes the following new features and administrator tools, designed to increase security, optimize performance, and make the software easier to use and customize.

Assessment Tool
This tool lets you check the configuration of your host
connection items to ensure that you are taking advantage of the security features
in pcAnywhere 11 and helps you identify areas where you might be at risk.
Connection status
For added security, the host
icon in the system tray now displays information about who is connected to the
host. Move the cursor over the host icon to see the remote computer name, type
of connection, and session duration.
Customizable container
view
The watermarks in the pcanywhere
11 oem Manager window help you distinguish between different modes of
operation, such as host or remote. The View menu now lets you turn the watermarks
on or off, so helpdesk operators and others who manage a large number of connection
items can have an unobstructed view of their connection lists.
Rebootless
Host
pcAnywhere 11 Packager lets administrators create host-only
packages that do not require end users to restart their computers once the installation
is complete. Rebootless host packages provide a quick way to deploy a pcAnywhere
host for a support session or to troubleshoot problems on a critical server
that cannot be rebooted.
